Social Events
We hold regular social events. In the past these have included : Murder Mystery nights , quiz nights, barbecues, fellowship meals, cycle rides . They usually involve food in some form!
Events coming up:
As is our custom in summer (August) we don't hold the midweek prayer meeting or homegroups but instead we have a variety of social events. This is a great opportunity to get to know others in the church and to invite friends along too.
- Saturday 12th August, @ 6pm, at Arnwood. “A Cuban Killing” - Murder Mystery Dinner Party (see notice below)
- Wednesday 16th August @ 7pm, French and Boules evening @ Dave & Sue's
- Wednesday 23rd August @ 5pm-7pm, games evening @ church (in combination with BB & GB families)
- Tuesday 29th of August @ 2:20pm, afternoon tea in Jean and Ruaridh's garden.
“A Cuban Killing” - MBC Murder Mystery Dinner Party
Everyone's a suspect when murder is on the menu. The gripping story is set in 1952 at The 'Casa Nova' Hotel in Havana where the rich and famous come to play but not everything has gone to plan. Yesterday evening, hotel manager Rico Ricardo was found dead and it turns out he has been murdered! Suspicion falls on the hotel employees and guests but who would have wanted to kill him? Possibly his business partner C.D Gonzalez or Sir Ian Lemming; a British writer of spy novels or even showgirl Lola Cabana?
If you’d like to come to the next MBC Murder Mystery Dinner Party please let us know ASAP by contacting Steve and Alison Ayling (01684 594013) to express an interest or for more details. Or come and see us after the service on Sunday. We are looking for 6-8 actors to take part, roles will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. Non-acting guests are welcome who just want to try to guess who the murderer is and we’re looking for offers to bring food. Please dress appropriately for a swinging 50’s Cuban socialite party.
