Muddy Church

Muddy Church is church for all ages which meets outside in the great outdoors. You won't have to worry about the children fidgeting or making a noise, because having fun in God's wonderful creation is what we are about. It might be different from church as you think you know it, but Jesus and his disciples did much of their ministry outside.  Muddy Church is about engaging and learning from Creation and nature and about how God’s character is shown through them.  It’s also about developing relationships with each other and with God. 

What kind of things might you expect to do if  you came along to Muddy Church?   Well, the Muddy Church programme will be varied according to the seasons of the year and the surroundings in which we gather, but typically we will meet in a pre-arranged place with good car parking .  Each meeting will have a theme, around which  we might do a craft or construction activity using natural materials,  have a linked Bible reading and story, listen to an all-age talk,  sing together, listen to each others thoughts,  go on a short discovery walk, and maybe even cook something outdoors!  We will finish off with refreshments, so do bring a flask of coffee etc.  

Our next  meeting  Our last event was our popular Easter Egg Hunt held in Priory Park,  but we are not currently running Muddy Church at present.

 You and your family’s safety is very important to us so please take note of the following: 

• Our activities are risk assessed and insured
• Our leaders are police -checked  (DBS) and identified by Muddy Church badges. 
• All children and young people under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Click here to open the consent form. 
• You are welcome to bring your dog but it must be on a lead all the time when with the church group , and must  be well –behaved and  not act aggressively.  
• Please wear clothing  and footwear which is appropriate to the ground and weather conditions .
• Please bring water to drink if hot.
